Collaborator,
Sexual Violence Response on Campus Toolkit

The Sexual Violence Response on Campus Toolkit is a guide that targets stakeholders working in sexual violence offices across Ontario. The toolkit aims to provide campus stakeholders with the information necessary to improve or develop their sexual violence response programming, as well as to best support students who have experienced some form of sexual violence. The toolkit highlights the mental health impacts of sexual violence, the nuances of collecting data on sexual violence, as well as a collection of best and promising practices in sexual violence response.

This research project emerged in response to our observations of and discussions about trans students’ unique experiences of navigating online learning. Namely, many students have shared that they have faced specific positive and negative factors shaping their engagement in online learning spaces. As online and hybrid learning continue to play a role of greater significance in higher education, this area of research is a timely response to an emerging concern. It also maintains transferable links to and implications for in-person learning.

At the Root: A Systems Change Approach to Addressing Sexual Harassment in STEM Experiential Learning

Project advisors supported and advised the project team’s resource development; advocacy for legislative, policy, and protocol recommendations; and training curriculum for At the Root. This project scales efforts across Canada to address sexual harassment faced by women and gender-diverse post-secondary students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) internships, co-ops and other experiential learning environments. While the rates of sexual harassment are among the highest in these sectors, there are substantial gaps in research, support and resources to address this issue.
